Furocoumarins: Special Swiss regulation despite clear rejection by all stakeholders
The repeal of the Cassis-de-Dijon principle decided by the Federal Council for the Swiss limit values of furocoumarins in cosmetic products will result in high costs. Products that are available in all countries of the world will have to be reformulated for Switzerland, or will no longer be available at all.

The Swiss chemicals legislation – avoiding trade barriers, seizing opportunities
The Swiss chemicals legislation protects health and the environment. It is aligned with EU regulations as part of an “autonomous implementation”, i.e. without the legal obligation to adopt EU provisions, as an EU or EEA member state must. Unless there is an obligation to do so, for example as a result of an MRA with the EU

Green Deal and corporate responsibility
The EU Green Deal will have a significant impact on the cosmetics, detergents and cleaning products industry. The SKW is collaborating with EU umbrella organisations. Objective: to harmonise Swiss legislation on sustainability and corporate responsibility with EU legislation and other initiatives.
