Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (SFOEN)
National Environmental Office: Principal tasks: Legislation (regulations level) and supervision of compliance with the legislation of the Environment Protection Law and/or the Chemical Law, which is relevant to the detergent and cleanser industry. The VOC (volatile organic compounds) steering tax sector is also one of the large range of tasks undertaken by the SFOEN. Cooperation in technical and legal matters.
FOPH
Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (SFOPH)
Principal tasks: Legislation (regulations level) and supervision of the laboratories in the various cantons with regard to compliance with the Foodstuffs and Commodities Act (cosmetics) as well as with the Chemical Law. Close cooperation in technical and legal matters.
IPI
Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI)
The federal government's central point of contact for all questions concerning patents, trade marks, indications of source, design protection and copyright. It provides, among other things, information on how companies can make optimum use of both the IP rights system and the scope of development available to them, as well as providing trade mark and patent searches. It is also responsible for the internal administrative preparation of legislation for all areas of intellectual property. Cooperation in legislative matters (as with the ‘Swissness’ revision, for example, with a view to a SKW industry ordinance).
Seco
State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco)
The SECO is the federal competence centre with regard to all crucial questions concerning economic policy. Its goal is to achieve sustainable economic growth. For this purpose, it creates the necessary basic conditions with regard to regulatory and economic policies. Cooperation in legislative matters (e.g. technical trade restrictions).
